Summertime...and the livin' is easy.

1. Although our intellect always longs for clarity and certainty, our nature often finds uncertainty fascinating, 2. One of the virtues of being very young is that you don't let the facts get in the way of your imagination. ~Sam Levenson, 3. Whispering to your raptured rind, 178/365, 4. ~ summer ~

So, We have had unbelievable heat here in Texas. Day after day of triple digit heat. It makes me long for the summers of my childhood in the midwest. Waking up and playing outside all day, riding bikes to the Dairy Queen for a Dilly Bar, and playing at Lion's Club Park. Or disappearing into the woods behind our house to follow the creek for miles and my only rule was to be home by dinner time. Luckily, I lived in a very small town where everyone knew everyone. Before the heightened sense of doom of children disappearing. Everyone was looking out for everyone else.
Fourth of July's spent in Sheboygan, watching fireworks over Lake Michigan.
Now as an adult, there is no summer vacation, and here in Texas you can't stand outside for fear of melting. Yeah, Summer!
